I was traveling once through the Sinai to Israel and I caught myself thinking “Is English the main language in Israel?” Nah, it couldn’t be, but, what is it then? When the bus stopped and I hopped out, I heard the border guards talking and no, dear reader, it wasn’t English. I could be embarrassed about this, but I’m not. Everyone is ignorant of something but some people sit at home watching Fox News and have their opinions confirmed and some people go out into the world and look stupid and look naive and learn and grow and become better people. If the target audience for an advert on the HSR is the transgendered community then it is cowardly but sly. If the target audience is the ‘straight’ community then it is only cowardly augmented by homophobia.
I would refer to thiw with a picture, but a bus driver once got pissy that i snapped a few, so this has to be verbal oral written in bits.
it started a few months before this punchline of a bad joke. It is a picture of several young people, the appropriate mix of gender color and ethnicity. There was bold text like a headline. I try to reproduce it verbatim below.
