American food stamps are now a credit card?
I was reading daring fireball and was struck by this article on the growth of food stamps, and the decline of any stigma.
It seems that the former republican administration, after first trying to end the whole program (not unexpectedly) and slashing and cutting had a change of heart. Or at least a change of mind. I cant assume what there is no evidence of, a republican heart.

Slagging Americans
It is easy to pick on Americans for an obvious reason or three. This does not make us less able to admire them. What most of us admire most is their enthusiasm. They themselves think everyone admires their wealth, and freedom.
What I admire is what a woman I used to know called sticktoitivness.
Since they themselves do not use the word as relentlessly as they can it will not enter the lexicon....

As the HSR continues to serve the underclass the fares will rise and the services will be cut. Time to revive the idea of privatization. Lets not revive the implementations that have ravaged the public sector of service delivery.
Lets give it back to the people. The ones who live along the routes. The ones who use it.
