According to the american versions of the english bible, and according to its self proclaimed experts, the world and its attendant universe started a few millennia ago. It will all end -well the precise date you understand is in gods hands, but it will end soon, any day now. Real soon.
And so it is written.
According to the best computations of science, the universe began, from what we know not, close enough to 14.7 billion years ago. Its future is either a fiery death some billions and billions of years hence, a frigid devoiding* to nothingness a few trillion years from now, or some unimaginable fate we cannot conceive, god knows when.
Which of these is a god you should fear? Which of these is a god you can worship? Which of these can your faith be in?. Which of these is optimistic and which its opposite? Which the life prevailing, hopeful, and happy?
Thus I define the polarity of the 21st century.
God help us if science and reason don’t prevail.
*devoiding - a neologism, required by the need to make an adjective a verb. From devoid, as in its original French meaning to make empty.
